Dust off your running shoes and channel your inner Indiana Jones, because the Rifle Range Bushland Reserve just hosted an epic cross-country adventure! This wasn’t your average jog in the park; it was a challenging 10k course notorious for its relentless climb, muddy puddles, and fallen tree obstacles. But fear not, intrepid runners, Drew Christian conquered it all, claiming his second victory of the season!
Despite battling some injuries, Christian powered through the course like a seasoned pro. He’s even training for the Melbourne Marathon in October, and just for kicks, tacked on an extra 12k after the race – that’s dedication! Hot on his heels were Nathan Baker and Jess Maffescioni, who crushed her second club run after welcoming a new baby just two months ago. Talk about super mom strength!
The junior racers weren’t slouches either. Milla Harrison shaved a whopping 14 seconds off her time from last week’s race, proving she’s a force to be reckoned with (and maybe her mum Stacey, who ran alongside her, offered some secret coaching tips?). Tanner Freeland and Joseph Clarke, a newcomer with boundless enthusiasm, followed close behind.
Even the sub-junior dash was packed with excitement. Christian Clarke stole the show, leaving the Baker twins, Oakley and Hamish, in his dust. Looks like the future of cross-country is in good hands!
