Vaction works best for Bob

On Saturday 26th June the SAAC gathered in the Ironbarks for the Kieran Ryan 5km Handicap.

We thank Kieran for his support over many years as a runner and sponsor.

Starting off scratch and crossing the line first was winner Bob Freeland running sub-35-minute. An impressive run after a trip north which included a 10km fun run in Noosa.

Bob increased his running whilst on holiday from his usual laps in the pool. He links the sport of running to good mental health.

Bob said, “It’s a great course and great for the body.”

Elise Monaghan was the fastest female and Nathan Baker the fastest male. Tanner Freeland was the fastest sub-junior and continues to improve each week.

Willow Davies claimed another win with a fast finish down the hill.

Saturday 9th July will be the Keith Lofthouse memorial 6.5km starting near the clubhouse, registration from 9:30 am with a morning tea to follow at the clubhouse.
