Warren Cleans Up Field

Nathaniel Warren fought his way to the front in the closing stages of the race, to take out the Howdens of Stawell Handicap.

Held over a tough, hilly course in fantastic autumn weather, the conditions were perfect for running.

A very small field of eleven runners set off over the 8km course, with Gary Saunders setting the early pace. However, he was quickly reeled in by Axel Meumann, who was setting a cracking pace.

Meanwhile, back marker Nathaniel Warren had been slowly making his way through the field, and with 1km to go he hit the front. Warren then kept the momentum going, and cruised to the line to take out a great win.

New runner Daniel Henryshowed great improvement to put in his best run for the season coming in second, with Kelvin Mills also showing good form early on in the season taking third.

Warren also ran the fastest time of the day with 31 minutes and 37 seconds.

Liam Scott once again took out the junior 4km race in a time of 19minutes 15 seconds with Tobias Blair coming in second and Charlotte Hilbig taking third place.
